A Decade of Global Materials Classification
Over the past ten years, Davoren Environmental has grown from a niche consultancy into a specialist practice supporting the classification and movement of mineral products across global supply chains.
What began with a small number of domestic projects has progressively expanded into work spanning mines, ports, processing plants and trading pathways across multiple continents and commodity types. Along the way, the business has been fortunate to contribute to projects ranging from conventional bulk materials through to complex concentrates, by-products and emerging mineral streams.
The map below represents a snapshot of locations where Davoren Environmental has delivered hazard classifications for mining and metals companies to support the safe and compliant production, transport, and storage of their products. While anonymised, it reflects the breadth of materials and operating environments encountered over that time, and the practical experience gained through them.
Many projects have also required collaboration beyond traditional classification work, including engagement with specialist laboratories and technical partners to address more complex challenges (e.g. asbestos, radioactivity).
While the projects, commodities and jurisdictions have varied considerably, the underlying approach has remained consistent: practical, technically defensible classification work that supports safe transport, regulatory compliance and the realities of commercial operations.
Ten years on, it is rewarding to look back on how far the work has travelled, both geographically and technically, and to recognise the clients, laboratories and industry partners who have contributed along the way.
